Posted: 11 Jun 2012 09:44 AM PDT The BOLT concept motorbike is a beautiful combination of the polished and sophisticated features of naked-style sports tourers and the streetfighter stance of supersports. The minimal aesthetic is somewhat deceiving as dual electric motors put out around 80kw, launching the bike with an amazing amount of torque. Other features like a clear digital display and stunning LED lighting effects leave little to be desired. Designer: Springtime, Amsterdam - Related posts: |
Posted: 11 Jun 2012 04:30 AM PDT The EasyGrab is specially designed for the silver generation, making photography and easy task rather than a challenge. The design language is pretty traditional with a few exceptions; for example the shutter button is not on top of the camera, instead it is a leaver placed in the front of the camera. The camera is easy to hold with either hands and has two scrolls that control the zoom. Interestingly the zoom has access from both the front and the back of the camera. The back of the camera sports a huge touchscreen with a simple GUI, which uses big icon graphics. EasyGrab is a 2012 iF Design Talents entry. Designer: Arttu-Matti Immonen - Related posts: |
The Future is… in Boston : IDSA’s 2012 International Conference Posted: 11 Jun 2012 04:25 AM PDT Most designers I know are gearing up for the 2012 International Conference hosted by IDSA. The little snippet of surprise this year is the poster competition being held on the sidelines. The winner gets one complimentary registration; 4-night's paid accommodation and a brand new iPad! Sweet deal, considering the well-acclaimed Syd Mead will be delivering the keynote address. For the poster design competition you need to create a theme based on the theme: The Future Is…
The Future Is… about us. How we work, laugh, learn, cooperate, connect and stay healthy. Topic experts will address the dramatically changing playing field in business and technology in a format where attendees contribute to the understanding of the information. The Future is… in Boston 8.15.2012

Posted: 11 Jun 2012 04:23 AM PDT Thanks to concept design, our perception of a printer has stretched from a circular body to over-the-edge box. The idea is to break conventional norms and do something radically different yet respecting the boundaries of 'form beyond function'. The Eclipse-dual Printer is a step in this direction and it aims at revealing the process of printing and scanning, rather than concealing it. It’s an inside-out design that celebrates its mechanical components as functional aesthetics. On the lines of Steve Jobs being manically obsessive of how the innards of any Apple product is designed. Although no one will see it except for the engineer, it should be exciting and beautifully laid out! Designer: Han S. Hong - Related posts: |
Posted: 11 Jun 2012 12:01 AM PDT Keeping with the late trend of bold headphone designs, the Amazing Headphone features an added visual element on one side. Now the music can be “seen” by others through a full-color display that can be customized to the user’s liking. A color spectrum sound graph, light wave, and sequenced flares are just a few of the options that will move to the sound of your jams. Designer: ChanHyun Park & SeJi Kim - Related posts: |
Posted: 11 Jun 2012 12:01 AM PDT I hate to admit it, but my desk is littered with post-it notes and random scribbles on pieces of paper. Until I fully utilize the capability of my digital calendar I could really use a desk design like this. “My Desk” by Miguel Mestre is more like a giant notepad on 4 legs! A thick tablet of 100cm X 70cm sheets of paper acts as the surface- each sheet is completely at your disposal to write all your thoughts and memos on! Genius!
