Posted: 01 Jun 2012 09:59 AM PDT This unorthodox structure, designed for Shangai’s city center, traverses over a man-made river and park system, serving as a peaceful landmark getaway for visitors and locals alike. The spiraling structure, named Sity, is ultramodern in approach, but was inspired by the ancient Chinese dragon. At once it is a striking beacon of the future and an instantaneously recognizable symbol of age-old tradition. Designer: Sonik Module - Related posts: |
Coffee Machine by Coffee Lovers for Coffee Lovers Posted: 01 Jun 2012 05:45 AM PDT When coffee professionals meet over a cuppa brew, to discuss and design a machine that gives its users complete control in their brewing, the result is bound to be astounding. Nordic electrical appliance giant Wilfa, the team from Designit and award winning Barista, Tim Wendelboe, came up with this radically new idea called the Wilfa SVART Manuell. Svart Manuell is a manual 'pour over' machine, very similar to a drip coffee machine; the only difference is that you pour the water over the grounds yourself. The team explains, "The funnel has a special flow adjustment that allows you to pre-infuse the coffee or increase the extraction time This allows you to make a perfect cup of coffee, just the way you like it. The kettle has a temperature control, so the water can be boiled for coffee brewing or heated to a lower temperature for other purposes." So coffee addicts, what do you say? Are you ready for some Scandinavian smartness? Designer: Designit - Related posts: |
Posted: 01 Jun 2012 05:30 AM PDT U Transfer USB stick eliminates the need for using a computer as a medium to transfer information from one stick to another. It is equipped with a display that is hopefully a touchscreen, and has a slot at one end to hook up another stick. File transfers promise to be easy, and I can imagine myself using this stick at live blogging events. Designer: Yiyan Cao - Related posts: |
Posted: 01 Jun 2012 12:01 AM PDT Ever gone to the park and found someone else sitting on your favorite bench? Ever wished your bench was turned the other way because you like the other view better? This genius outdoor bench design offers a solution to both. Each bench system consists of 4 seats that can easily be tilted in the direction the user prefers, or to simply put a little space between you and strangers. Not to mention, its fantastic to look at! Posted: 01 Jun 2012 12:01 AM PDT The 100% electric Monobike might not look very “mono” at first glance, but at higher speeds the rear wheel lifts, balancing only on the front portion of the bike. The design, which is really more of a “dicycle,” aims to relieve the congested roads of urban streets by providing a slim yet speedy solution for getting around the city. Its miniature size and unique design make it possible to park in a vertical position, further reducing the amount of space it takes up. Designer: Ilia Vostrov - Related posts: |
