Posted: 31 May 2012 03:33 AM PDT Bless the person who devised remote controlled car keys; its a boon being able to locate your car in a crowded lot, thanks to the unique sound. Wish there was something similar for a cycle lock. Wait, there is! Yes, the Acoustic-optical Lock for cycles is designed on similar lines. This version features a lock system that has a radio transmitter in the key and a matched radio receiver in the lock. Simply press the button and the lock makes a sharp sound and switches on the LED light. You not only locate your bike easily but also have a better way of finding it in low-light situations. Acoustic-optical Lock is a 2012 Design Talents winner. Designers: Yakun Zhang, Jason LIU & Danwei Ye - Related posts: |
Posted: 31 May 2012 12:04 AM PDT Does anyone remember Armatron?! Designer Otto Polefko’s COG lamp instantly reminded me of one of my favorite childhood toys. The quirky design has a similar robotic aesthetic that was inspired by the designer’s hometown of Miskolc, Hungary, which used to be an industrial center in the 80s. The lamp is a blend of former and modern style trends, and is as functional as it is fun! Designer: Otto Polefko - No related posts. |
Posted: 31 May 2012 12:03 AM PDT I’m loving this creative clock design by Shen Yuebo! Let’s say you need to set an alarm- simply draw a mark at the exact time you need and the clock face will change colors to notify you! You can even make marks with different colors so you associate each alarm with a different hue! Designer: Shen Yuebo - Related posts: |
Posted: 31 May 2012 12:01 AM PDT Unlike the conventional (and totally passé) gasoline go-karts, the ACTO kart is entirely battery-powered, and of course, boasts zero emissions. Its strong, feather-light, monocoque body has a playful, formula one-like aesthetic that places the driver in the center for enhanced ergonomics, excitement, and protection. Clean and fun!
