Posted: 24 May 2012 06:10 AM PDT This project is close to home because I have seen small children rag picking and going through dumps of waste, just to salvage what they can and earn a buck. The conditions are unsanitary and even urbanized cities like Mumbai lack the civic sense of dumping waste in bins. Most often plastic garbage bins get vandalized or stolen, so the concrete Toknee makes perfect sense. It won't get picked and probably encourage people to segregate and recycle trash, making it safer for the rag pickers to scavenge. Designer: Yash Mevada - Related posts: |
Posted: 24 May 2012 05:12 AM PDT Thank you Laura and Charles for giving us a fresh perspective on tablets! The Samsung Galaxy One Tablet Projector Concept is a combination of three characteristics from three different devices. It has the lightness and mobility of tablets, the widescreen of desktops backed with the power of a laptop. With the inclusion of a back kick-stand and projector, the device gets additional functionality and of course Windows 8! Superb! Specs:

Posted: 24 May 2012 12:01 AM PDT Marking our height on the door frame when we were growing up is a fond memory for many of us, but as time goes by the marks usually get covered up, or people move and forget about them. Sad huh?! The Height Recorder is a thoughtful design that makes it possible to carry the memory with you anywhere. Hang the stick against the wall, placing marks on it each year. When the child is fully grown, the stick can be cut into pieces and made into musical scales like a xylophone! Designer: Weiche Wu - Related posts: |
Posted: 24 May 2012 12:01 AM PDT Inspired by one of nature’s wonders, the geode, this carafe design makes for a beautiful and eye-catching water pitcher. Similar to how groundwater moves in a cave to form geodes, the water in the carafe moves along the crystals to create an interesting effect that is sure to be a conversation starter at the dinner table.
