Posted: 03 May 2012 05:43 AM PDT It always tickles me pink when I see a clever twist to a seemingly simple design. Bulavkus is a USB Flash Drive masquerading as a classic safety pin! Sharply designed as a 4GB storage unit, it 'keeps your data safely pinned.' Forever ensuring that you never loose your drive, wicked minds can use this disguise for industrious purposes. Posted: 03 May 2012 05:05 AM PDT Snakes is a set of portable speakers that can be manipulated to any size or orientation, for your listening pleasure. They can be used together or independently and are in three versions: small, medium and large. These Bluetooth enabled slytherines come with built-in microphones and good for conferences as well. As Junonna explains, "The main feature of the columns is that they easily transform as you like. You can rotate each segment about its axis by 360 degrees and still they have a good sound to 360 degrees. This adds functionality and entertainment." Designer: Junonna Trotsiuk - Related posts:

Posted: 03 May 2012 12:01 AM PDT To ensure the most accurate and comfortable fit, the Active Leg prosthetic concept uses structural sheet metal with programmable deformation zones and an internal layer for pressure and temperature measurements. Sound a little complicated? Just wait… it also includes a neuro-circuit sensor that sends and receives info to and from the brain to control electro-active polymers (sort of like a faux-muscle). Pretty cool (even though we might have to wait until the year 2050!). Designer: Jorge Rui Machado F. Silva - Related posts: |
Posted: 03 May 2012 12:01 AM PDT There are two things that almost every parent/newborn has – a baby monitor and mobile. Why not combine the two?! This was the challenge driving designer Denny Tsai to create the Aegis mobile/monitor combination. As a toy, the device keeps newborns pacified, but its embedded video camera also provides parents a bird’s eye view of the crib that no other monitor on the market currently provides. Posted: 03 May 2012 12:01 AM PDT I’m not a big advocate for weapon design in general, BUT this design aims to provide a non-lethal solution for defending your home when the security system and locks have failed. The weapon pulses and invisible laser that super-heats the surrounding air. The resulting plasma explosion delivers a swift kick to the intruder while electro magnetic waves induce temporary paralysis. OUCH! Additionally, when the unit is turned on, an integrated camera and microphone feed to on off-site security center that will notify the police of an incident.
