It’s a Purifier, Kettle and More! Posted: 26 Apr 2012 05:07 AM PDT Wells Smart Mini is a water purifier that can pour out chilled drinking water and double up as an electric kettle. The idea is that spaces are reducing and family sizes are shrinking. So to keep pace with current trends of multi-functionality we have a one-stop solution for purified water that can be available chilled and for hot beverages using the kettle. The iPod docking station on top kinda takes the spunk out of the huge dispensers in sterile offices. Me really likes this! Designers: Sang Keun Sim & Kyowon L&C Design Lab - Related posts: |
Posted: 26 Apr 2012 04:48 AM PDT And before you squeal on me, just know that the gun was a doorknob; a Gunshot Doorknob! I agree that we have enough of violence that permeates our subconscious mind. But for those who love lightsabers and think BB Guns are good fun, a quirky knob will be just that….quirky! Designer: Hyunwoo Park - Related posts: |
Posted: 26 Apr 2012 12:01 AM PDT Did you see that hypersonic aircraft that deteriorated mid-air this week? This concept by Sheng-Hung Lee uses similar arrowhead shape but actually looks a lot more stable! The single-person craft is the designer’s take on what ultrafast “sport” spacecraft might look like in the future. Let’s just hope the skin doesn’t fly off. Hit the jump to catch the making of the model! Designer: Sheng-Hung Lee - Related posts: |
Posted: 26 Apr 2012 12:01 AM PDT The latest collection of lighting from Italian design firm In-es.artdesign offers a literal interpretation of our human obsession with the moon. The textured lamps mimic the full and crescent moons, making them an enchanting accent that’s sure to set a nocturnal mood. Designer: In-es.artdesign - Related posts: |
Posted: 26 Apr 2012 12:01 AM PDT The downside of exercise becoming a predominately indoor activity is that it has caused us to lose a certain amount of contact with nature. Arceas brings fitness and nature together in this artistic object that at first appears to be little more than an upright planter, but take a closer look and you’ll see that it’s actually an exercise machine! Integrated into the structure are pulley systems for strength training as well as hideaway padded mat for stretching and ab workouts. Posted: 25 Apr 2012 06:56 AM PDT Don't even try it! The lady looks flexible and sexy, but her point is that you needn't look all grouchy and clumsy with a broken foot. Strap on a 'Tattooed Foot' brace, which is styled very much like gladiator sandals. The aim is to 'inject the realm of orthotic devices with a dose of style' especially for those who wound their ankles or who suffer from poliomyelitis (polio). As the designer explains, "Lacquered metal plates bring a decorative surface to the brace, as well as rigidity and strength. The patterns were inspired by tattoos and henna. Leather, belts, and zips join the metal plates together. The designer hopes the brace will give patients courage and bravery – just as a tattoo can." Tattooed Foot is a 2011 red dot design concept winner. Designer: Chen Kai Jing - Related posts: |
