Posted: 23 Apr 2012 02:47 AM PDT What do you think this is? Hmmm, if you guessed it as a lock of some sorts, then I'll hand it you; you're pretty close. All I can say, it holds a ton of information….literally! All the best! Alright then, this is the U-Lock! A number-locking USB Flash Drive that makes no bones of the fact that you have sensitive information to protect! It can't get more obvious than this! U-Lock is a 2012 iF Design Talents entry. Posted: 23 Apr 2012 02:36 AM PDT SoftSheet is a device aimed at making presentations of blueprints by architects, engineers, contractors and site workers, easy. While tablets do offer a degree of convenience, SoftSheet takes the screening a notch higher by taking advantage of a foldable, touchsensitive, transparent display. The technology is almost here, so it is quite plausible to imagine an architect showing his work to clients using the device and syncing his files from his USB or smartphone backup. Posted: 23 Apr 2012 12:01 AM PDT The Walking Chair (not to be confused with a walker!) aims to make a parallel between the acts of walking and resting. The chair’s clever leg positioning achieves a visual sensation that the chair is frozen in movement. It really looks caught in mid-dance! Designer: Luis Ribeiro

Posted: 23 Apr 2012 12:01 AM PDT The latest collection from d-vision leaves little to be desired. Whatever your specific taste may be, the eclectic series is sure to have a design that speaks to you. Ranging from a cushy chair that folds into a box to a modern tuffet-style stool, they all share a common, subtle nod to classic furniture inspirations. Designer: d-vision - Related posts: |
Posted: 23 Apr 2012 12:01 AM PDT Ask any designer and they’ll tell you the same thing- a winning balance of functional and aesthetic simplicity is harder to achieve than you might think. Take a few notes from the team at Bureau Puree because they’ve hit the nail on the head with this design: the Cone Lamp. It’s a gleaming example of simplicity and reduced design with a characteristic form. Each Cone Lamp’s industrial glass funnel has its individual surface and structure. With the lamp switched off, its cone reflects the daylight and accentuates the low-key design. Its emanating light corresponds with the surrounding light and, depending on daylight intensity, produces various color temperatures and contrasting effects. Designer: Bureau Puree - Related posts: |
