Posted: 03 Apr 2012 09:51 AM PDT The RAD e builds a bridge from the automaker Opel’s origins in bicycle manufacturing to its current position as the transportation producer of the future. The RAD e is the first e-bike designed around automotive production methods. It is made of hollow pressed-steel which is light, strong, flexible and easy to make. The pedelec drive of the RAD e is based on a state-of-the-art 250 Watt electric motor, powered by a lithium-ion battery. It provides an electrically-assisted range of 60 to 140 km, depending on the terrain. The 'boomerang' styling elements, which also feature in the award-winning Ampera and RAK e, give the RAD e a dynamic, sporty character. Other design highlights include the almost self-supporting frame, which makes the battery the heart of the bike; the dynamic flow of lines; and the fully-enclosed drive, which reduces maintenance needs to a minimum.

Posted: 03 Apr 2012 03:01 AM PDT EDDY or Electronic Drawings Display is a device that attempts to make a design office a paperless entity! Architects, interior designers and the whole clan rely on tons of paper for sketching to design execution, despite taking help from computer programs. EDDY uses e-paper mimics the qualities of paper as much as possible while still maintaining the powerful efficiency of a digital device. The designer explains, “it stores and displays electronic drawings such as CAD and PDF files, over which the user can digitally sketch and mark-up with it’s touch screen capability and stylus. It is portable, durable and legible in sunlight for use in transit and on outdoor construction sites.” Designer: Austin Inglis - Related posts: |
Posted: 03 Apr 2012 02:04 AM PDT I am totally enchanted by this beautiful Chemicus set. Designed as a service set for Russian chemists/patriots and adorning the a traditional Gzhel pattern, the repurposed laboratory test tubes and beakers set reminds me of the other chemical reactions that took place in our school Chemistry Lab. Don't worries dears…I don't kiss and tell! Designer: Art Lebedev Studio - Related posts: |

Made of 100% recycled cardboard and produced through a sustainable production process, the series is a creative way of raising awareness of the importance of sustainable growth and recycling while also smashing the stigmas associated with cardboard.
