Visual Complexity: Mapping Patterns of Information Posted: 08 Apr 2012 06:25 PM PDT Visual Complexity: Mapping Patterns of Information is perhaps the most comprehensive book about complex information design. The Internet and globalization made information much more complex to conceptualize without visualizing it. For example, complex social networks or the American government’s debt are pretty much impossible to understand without infografics. This book explains how these complex visualization work, and give tons of excellent illustrated examples. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful and well explained by Manuel Lima, the author of the book and of Visualcomplexity.com, the website that started it all. Following are a few examples taken from the website, to see more in better quality, you’ll have to get the book on Amazon. |
