Bathroom on a Wall

Posted: 09 Mar 2012 05:10 AM PST

By modulating all the fittings and fixtures of a bathroom on just one wall, the Fluid Wall creates an ambience of asymmetrical and organic surfaces. The idea is to highlight the features to just one place and create a focal point. As Jay explains, "Each panel has identical hidden mounting points for easy installation on an integrated mounting system. Panels may be arranged in any configuration. The room may include as few or as many panels as desired." Very minimal and basic, and just apt for those facing space crunch!

Power – When You Need It

Posted: 09 Mar 2012 04:50 AM PST

Blessed with uninterrupted power supply in a city like Mumbai, its ironic that the capital city of New Delhi has to rely on invertors because of the frequent outages. Lights, fans and appliances are no longer the basics, it's stuff like cellphones, laptops and portable devices that demand energy consumption in a average household. Addressing this need to bridge the gap of supply and consumption is the Ovia, a power reserve that illuminates and juices up devices when needed.

Features:

  • Illuminate homes with reserve power battery that charges when the electricity is running.
  • Charge cellphones and laptops with the reserve power.
  • Carry each unit independently, whether if it is to the kitchen or the bedroom.
  • Afford a unit of OVIA in homes because of its low cost to manufacture and package.
  • Access replacement parts (i.e. battery) easily.

Addicted to Tech!

Posted: 09 Mar 2012 12:05 AM PST

The Tech Addict concept takes inspiration from some of nature’s most cleverly evolved creatures, applying their unique super-senses to modern technology to enhance our own human abilities. Use radar like a bat, have a 280 degree view of surroundings like a chameleon, or even disguise your voice as a bird’s song!

Bat Earphone- earphones with built-in reverse radar that detect nearby objects and  display them on a visor so the user can be totally engaged their other gadgets (like a cell phone or iPad) and still maintain awareness of their surroundings.

Chameleon Eye Glasses- glasses with internal moving, reflective components that make it possible to look in different directions at the same time or monitor areas outside normal range without moving the head.

Sparrow Ring- not a ring you’d wear on your finger, but a conical device that helps keep conversations private and surrounding people undisturbed by phone conversations. Hold the device near the mouth when speaking on the phone and it will emit what sounds like a bird’s song (best for outside, of course).

Heaven’s Reception Desk

Posted: 09 Mar 2012 12:02 AM PST

As part of a complete renovation of the showroom for the furniture brand Prestige Group in Nicosia, Cyprus- this bare, skeletal yet organic desk stands as the focal point of the updated and ultramodern reception area. Inspired by the Besparmak Mountains in North Cyprus, the sculptural desk has a rolling, cloud-like appearance that contrasts with the sharp matrix of square screens that cover the wall behind it.

Luminous Door Handle

Posted: 09 Mar 2012 12:01 AM PST

Whether it’s in the isle of an airplane or on heavy machinery, safety lighting can mean the difference between disaster and security. With this concept in mind, the illuminating Zento door handle was designed as an added safety feature in the event of smoke from fire, electricity black-outs or other perilous scenarios. An independent wireless power system ensures the internal lamp is always ready for use. There’s unlimited potential for this concept to be applied to more than just doors at home!
