Posted: 17 Feb 2012 03:10 AM PST My iMac is placed facing its back to the wall and plugging in any USB wire is kinda shot-in-the-dark for me. Unless I turn the entire monitor to one side…you get my drift, right? As my struggle continues, I often wonder why couldn't they design the plug-head to be more instinctive to hook-up. Something like the Eidetic USB; very obvious which way this plug goes in. Plus a random touch to the slot can confirm the way you slide it in. Superb! Eidetic USB is a 2011 red dot design concept award winning entry. Designer: Lim Jae Min - Related posts: |
Posted: 17 Feb 2012 02:44 AM PST Given the tight situations Agent 007 finds himself in, handy objects like the Rescue Flashlight make a perfect gift for him. Too bad the thang is only in a concept stage for now, however it's intention and functionality are very much desired by all. The torch splits into three and can be used in different colors and purposes, as per the intuitive icons displayed. After the Swiss Knife, a flashlight like this is a must in every handy kit! Posted: 17 Feb 2012 02:10 AM PST Giraffe Street Lamp is a very cute self-sustaining swing design that provides illumination at night. It harnesses kinetic energy each time you swing and as a double back up, utilizes the solar panel hood to soak some more energy goodness. It's a very clever design that interweaves play and eco sense into the urban environment. Something that our future generation may as well get used to! Traditional Camera Shapes are Wrong Posted: 16 Feb 2012 08:24 AM PST Listen to designer Jean-michel Bonnemoy and he’ll have you believe traditional camera form factors were dictated by the need to hold a roll of film in the back. Now that we’re all digital, why are still maintaining that archaism? He maintains the new form factor should be a cylinder – ergonomically better for the hand. The D-CAN concept significantly reduces volume while still providing all the finite controls professional photographers are used to. Hit the jump for the “specs”.

Posted: 16 Feb 2012 08:16 AM PST It’s a standard 4″ paint brush but the width can be varied by removing or adding 1/2 modular bristles. The synthetic hairs are attached to a stainless steel ferrule that mounts onto a spring steel handle. This actually look like it might work although it begs the question, why wouldn’t you just buy a good disposable brush in the first place? Designer: Virang Akhiyaniya - Related posts: |
