Yanko Design - Form Beyond Function |
Posted: 16 Feb 2012 02:04 AM PST Switch Socket has multiple useful facets all in one go. The design makes it easy for you to glide in the plug, and the rotary switch ensures that you exercise the good sense of switching off a plugged appliance, when not in use. This saves you the trouble of yanking out a plug! LED lights round the socket passively remind you that you can save energy. What I like most about the lock and rotate feature is that it kinda makes it a child-safe socket, unless your kid is over smart and work his way around this one too! Switch Socket is a 2011 red dot design concept winner. Designer: Liang Li-Hsin - Related posts: |
Posted: 16 Feb 2012 01:51 AM PST hotspot / breakfast is an excellent way to pamper yourself or a loved one. The setup is a fully functional breakfast tray with components like a toaster, a kettle and an espresso pot; all designed with a classic touch. Too bad it didn't hit the market during this past Valentine's week. It sure would have made many of us ladies happy…. being served breakfast in bed! As Stefan explains, "The design is handle-free, with simplified forms and invisible technology. The technology is based on carbon nanotubes (CNT) integrated in the plastic so that parts of the body itself become a heating element and therefore function very energy-efficiently. The power is supplied by power interfaces on a base plate on which the devices are mounted, using the same principle as electric kettles. Recessed grips on the sides of the base plate reveal its additional function as a tray and make it easy to pick up." Designer: Stefan Otzelberger - Related posts: |
Posted: 16 Feb 2012 12:01 AM PST The N1 watch is a tribute to everyone’s favorite tennis pro, the top ranked (and totally shaggable) Novak Djokovic. The inspiration from the sport’s signature racket pattern is reflected on the inner surface in the form of a net that provides a delicate touch in contrast with its other bold, masculine features, including the No.1 insignia- a nod to Djokovic.
